Nights of Architecture Sarajevo x Zenica
The first Nights of Architecture in Zenica unpacked the topic of architecture and urbanism within its rich industrial history. The venue Hotel Internacional reopened its formerly closed doors to host a night of lectures and dialogue. As one of the most remarkable buildings in Zenica, it is the work of architect Slobodan Jovandić.
We were delighted to listen to a series of lectures from one of the first researchers of Yugoslav Modernism – Vladimir Kulić PhD who presented the topic Toward a Concrete Utopia: Architecture in Yugoslavia, 1948 – 1980 as well as architects Vjekoslav Gašparović, Nikola Fabijanić, Juraj Glasinović and architectural studio AHAKNAP from Sarajevo.

Nights of Architecture Sarajevo x Bihać
Once again, the city of Bihać hosted the Nights of Architecture, this time during Architecture week. We explored the topic of “Spomeniks in Transition” through a panel discussion, mainly delving into how societal changes influence the symbolism found in spomeniks.
The panel of experts included Ena Kukić, Senada Demirović, Maroje Mrduljaš and Ajla Čavkić, the descussion was moderated by Edin Zoletić. The audience actively contributed to the dialogue, shaping our understanding of the role of spomeniks in a contemporary context.

Nights of Architecture Sarajevo – Ana Miljački, E + D
Another Nights of Architecture event marked its return in Meeting Point Cinema in Sarajevo. This time around with lectures by MIT professor Ana Miljački and E+D, an unforgettable duo – Ena Kukić and Dinko Jelečević.
Ana Miljački is a professor, curator and historian, she is editor and author of numerous articles as well as the book “The Optimum Imperative: Czech Architecture for the Socialist Lifestyle” (Routledge 2018). E+D’s work in architecture questions existing frameworks and creates new spatial fragments of collective memory. Their projects particularly focus on revitalization and adaptation of collective-use typologies. They have received several prestigious awards.
